A quick drink of this apple cider vinegar shot in the morning can boost your metabolism, support a healthy body and help with weight loss.

You guys LOVE your apple cider vinegar drink recipes and for good reason. This powerhouse of a staple kitchen ingredient offers health benefits no one should be passing up!
I wanted to create a super quick no fuss apple cider vinegar shot recipe that didn't have added honey so you could pour, shoot and be out the door with very little effort in the morning.
Here's why you need this shot in your life:
- You only need 3 ingredients because water never counts as an ingredient
- No messing around with trying to get honey to dissolve all the way
- No added sugars other than what you find naturally in the apple juice
- It is a really quick way to get apple cider vinegar in your system without having to sip on a drink
- Without the added sugar like honey found in most ACV shots, this shot is Whole30 friendly if you find the right apple juice
How to drink apple cider vinegar
The most enjoyable way to drink apple cider vinegar is by mixing it with something else to take some of the strength out of the taste.
You can do this by creating a drink you sip on like the ACV drinks found in this ACV Wellness E-Book. It is a watered-down drink that you take your time drinking. Or you can drink in shot form, just like my Pineapple Juice and Apple Cider Vinegar Shot and this recipe!
One thing you do not want to do is drink apple cider vinegar straight. It is not good for your teeth' enamel or your esophageal lining.
Benefits of apple cider vinegar drinks
Apple cider vinegar offers many benefits that you can use for improving your health. A lot of the time you may hear of these as "presumed" benefits because studies are still being done to confirm the benefits. However, the use of ACV has been around for centuries.
While there is no guarantee consuming ACV can help you, there is a relatively low risk of trying to implement it in your day to see if you get the changes you desire. As always, it's best to consult your physician with questions about your health.
- Weight loss- In 2009 a Japance study showed that obese participants that consumed apple cider vinegar in the study: "Body weight, BMI, visceral fat area, waist circumference, and serum triglyceride levels were significantly lower in both vinegar intake groups than in the placebo group"
- Reduces heart burn- At times, heartburn can be caused by relatively low acid in the stomach. This could help those that suffer with heartburn by introducing more acid into the digestive tract.
- Reduced blood sugar spikes- A number of studies have been done to show that blood sugar spikes are reduced when consuming vinegar.
Ingredient notes and substitutions
This is the easiest recipe in the world to make. Here is what you will need:
- Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother- Look for an organic apple cider vinegar with the mother. This will be an unfiltred vinegar. Organic is best because studies show that organic has a higher acetic acide profile. Acetic acid is where the benefits of ACV come from.
- Apple Juice- Find an apple juice that has no added sugar and not from concentrate. I love RW Knudsen and is pretty easy to find.
- Cinnamon- a dash of cinnamon is optional but really brings up the flavor, just like apple pie! Cinnamon also offers beneifts for boosing the metabolism and also contains lare amounts of polyphenol antioxidants.
Expert tips
- Feel free to double, triple, or quadruple the recipe to batch make this recipe. You can do this by putting all ingredients into a jar and shaking well. Each morning pour 1.5 ounces into a shot glass.
